Upgrade to a Professional Virtual Server for High Availability Features
- High Availability gives you more uptime
- If the hardware server fails, your Virtual Server will automatically migrate
- Increased redundancy for your virtual server
The hypervisor operating system keeps track of where virtual servers are on the physical nodes and if a problem occurs an automatic process will move the server to another physical node. This can happen because the storage for the system is shared and available to the different hardware nodes. If the hardware node instantly fails then the virtual server will reboot as the current processes that were in memory will be lost.
If the virtual server is migrated then it will keep running as the data in memory is not lost, this can be useful if performing maintenance on the physical server.
These features are only available on our Professional Virtual Servers.
